Antique Baccarat paperweights for sale
Baccarat was founded in 1734 and started making lead crystal glass in1816. The first paperweights were produced around 1846.
Some closepack designs and most with millefiori on muslin include a date cane in the design: B1846 (rare), B1847, B1848 or just 1849 (rare). The B1848 date / signature cane occurs most often. Silhouette canes are rare in 1846 or 1849 dated pieces.
